    The 'favorite beer' thread.

Don't gimme any of that 'no personal threads' bullshit. This isn't one of those sissy-ass 'marital status' ones. This is a man's thread! 8)

I'm always down for trying a new beer or three, so I thought I'd see what you guys like.

The instructions are simple: list your favorite beer and tell something about it.

PS. Don't shit in this thread (I will moderate hardcore on your asses).

    My Favorite:

    Beer: Dead Guy Ale
    Brewery: Rogue Brewery (Newport, OR)
Description: "Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops."

    Interesting history:
"In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon."

            Summertime...

So Corona has been the weapon of choice lately. And don't forget some lime! ;)

Or Guiness. Met that when I went to Ireland a few year's back! First full beer I ever had!
            Mmmmmm

            EDIT:

When I want to get completely trashed, my friends and I drink Coors Light.

Guinness plain and simple. The hardest part is finding people who can pour it right.

If I want a "light" beer I drink Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat. Its a local brewery so its fresh wheat and damn fresh beer.

If you can see through it you are getting ripped off.
                  Im now E30less.

                      Summer Limited Release
This unfiltered wheat ale goes well with sizzling summer days, so find yourself a patio and pull up a chair. Enjoy Hefeweizen chilled in a tall, slim glass, and although our Brewmaster may scoff, a lemon wedge is the perfect accessory to the natural fruit flavours of this refreshing beer.

Let's see Yuengling when I have money and the good old Natty or Beast when I don't, so mostly Natty or Beast.

Pete's Wicked Summer Ale should be hitting the shelfs pretty soon so that's gonna be the "when I got the cash" beer.

The 2 greatest beers on earth:

                          Samuel Smiths - any variety
Fuller's - either the ESB or Pale Ale

Drink a lot of local beer from Copper Brewery and Paper City.

Where can you get them? Are they local Mass brews?

Samuel Smiths and Fullers are both English ales. Copper Brewery and Paper City are MA, at least I know Paper City is (Holyoke). You should be able to find them at any "good" beer store that has a decent collection. Paper City can be hard to find but Copper is around at most stores. Sam Smiths is easy but its expensive ($10 / 4 pack). Fuller's is about the same price but you get 6. Fullers is harder to find. Fuller's actually makes a Vintage Ale that's oak aged for a few years before distribution. I have a collection of 3 that start in 1999. Expensive ($30/3 pack), but well worth it (they're also liter bottles).
