SOLD, SOLD! SOLD!
I am selling my near-mint condition 1993 BMW 325iC. This car was produced three months before the end of the legendary e30 chassis run and was originally bought new from the dealership in Tyler, Texas; it has remained in Texas its entire life. I purchased it in 2006 (87k miles) from its second owner in Austin, Texas. Since then I have carefully and thoroughly replaced/renewed anything that needed attention. I have all maintenance records from June of 2000 when the car had 49,000 miles on it documented in a binder.
Highlights include:
Engine: rebuilt head, radiator (2007), powdercoated intake manifold and valve cover (2010), belts, all hoses (2012)
Fuel system: injectors cleaned and new seals (2010), BMW fuel pump (2011), O2 sensor, fuel filter (2013)
Ignition: new distributor, rotor, plugs, wiring (2012)
Driveline: guibo and center support bearing (2012)
Suspension: Bilstein HD shocks/struts/mounts (2009), all front and rear arms, links, bushings (2013)
Steering: new steering rack, power steering pump, hoses (2010)
Brakes: new rotors, pads, stainless steel brake lines
Top: new top (2006), motors replaced, mechanism rebuilt and resyncronized
Interior: light bulbs in dash and OBC II, SI board batteries, odometer gears (2006), new carpet (2007), new leather upholstery (2010)
Tires: 215/R60-14 w/ 6000 miles (2013), same diameter as OE but wider, improved traction
Fluids: Royal Purple engine and driveline, BMW brakes and coolant, Redline power steering
Upgrades: Ansa Sport catback exhaust system, Kenwood Excelon head unit w/ iPod and aux inputs and Infinity components and amplifier, AKG polyurethane subframe and rear trailing arm bushings, so they never have to be done again.
The body is straight without dings. There are some paint chips up front as you would expect from a 22+ year old car that has been daily driven, driven through the Texas Hill Country often, and driven across the country (Tacoma, Washington, 2013, to the E30 Picnic). The paint is still a nice, glossy jet black, and the next owner can decide if he or she wants to do anything about the small chips. I thought keeping the original paint was more important. The top works as it should with a little finesse shown by the driver. The air conditioning blows very cold. The only two things I haven't touched are the clutch (replaced at 77k miles by PO) and the heater core.
This convertible drives like a new e30 with a strong engine and crisp handling. I bought it to drive through the Texas Hill Country and liked it so much that I made it my daily driver. It put a smile on my face every day on my way to and from work. I am selling it only because I have purchased another e30 325iC with a rare factory M Technic appearance package in Vancouver, British Columbia.
These are great cars built to drive. This car is one of the best examples anywhere.
