I want to kiss BavAuto.com on the mouth

Just singing some praise about my recent purchase with BavAuto.

I had found a site (mybimmerparts.com) that had about 80% of the parts I wanted at about a 10-15% discount relative to BavAuto. I should note that this page also had pay-for shipping and so the savings from ordering there was diminished but overall it was still cheaper. I even inquired about picking up the parts since the four hour trip would be less costly then the ghastly shipping charge that was revealed at checkout.

In order to do one order and maybe save some cash I contacted BavAuto customer service since I often use them for other things. I will note that this was preferred because their shipping is generally lightning fast - in SC orders generally get to me in 2-4 days. Ian there helped price match all of the parts and since it was a huge order it qualified for their free shipping. All in all, this left me saving over a hundred bucks!

At least they do right by someone. I ordered an exhaust form them and it took them two tries to finally get the right one out. Then I ordered some shocks from them and it took them about 4 months to get them out to me. After the first month went by I contacted them asking what was up and they said it was on back order. I usually get an email from Turner with in an hour if my parts are going to be a day late, let alone 4 months. I also hat the way their website is set up, I try to use Turner or Blunt for my BMW needs.

I did a fair amount of business with BavAuto, primarily when I got my 1st e30 in 1998 and thought they were the only source other than a dealer. Their service has always been top rate but over time I've found their prices to be high and more importantly, you have to pry out of them what brand you are buying.

That, for me is a deal killer
