After 6 month of driving my E30, I just realized today that my brake lights were always on. The brake pedal and the brake light switch is too far apart that the pedal isn't engaging the switch at its resting position.
I did some searching and found out that the button of the brake light switch can be pulled out with slight force. However, even with the button pulled all the way out, it still doesn't come in contact with the brake pedal.
I've temporarily resolved the issue by taping a water bottle cap onto the brake pedal to fill in the extra gap and create contact between the switch and the pedal. I was wondering if the bracket that holds the brake light switch is adjustable to close in this gap?
Any help will be appreciated.
