    1991 318is m52 turbo swap thread!

First BMW ive had and its a pretty badass car thats gonna be even more sweet when its done so id thought id start a build thread for it, gonna be a long one but im stoked.
BACKGROUND: so i bought the car basically already a beast, a parts list includes the following
    - fully rebuilt head with m3 cams
-precision 5252 turbo with aftermarket billet wheel
    -blunttech top mount manifold
    -tranny out of a z3
    -akg short shift kit
    -injector dynamics 1000cc injectors
    -aeromotive fuel pump
    -tial 44mm WG
    -turbosmart BOV
    -fuel pressure regulator
-mishimoto intercooler with 3inch piping and 3inch downpipe
    -ground control coilovers
    -everything is poly mounted
-complete vipec v88 standalone management with haltech igniters
    -aem wideband and boost guages
Probably forgetting some things but the car gets down it put down 544whp on the dyno... i was able to pick this up for $4200 which was full asking price from owner

The problem is that the car wasnt suppose to be pushing 23lbs of boost, it was only suppose to be pushing about 12 which is safe in a stock block which the block is, but the overboost issue took care of that, the bottom end is toast haha. Therefore in doing full arp hardware, cp pistons, eagle rods, king bearings, and the engine will be going to the machine shop and everything will be balanced and line honed all that good stuff, this is just the start.

    Pics will be coming soon!!

have you considering re-doing your coil wiring? Cant imagine it'll last long sitting so close/on the downpipe

Im definitely going to look into all of that wiring! Im sure its brittle from all of the heat. Since i have the engine out i have started on clearing the bay out and i want to start planning out a good wire tuck, and just an overall better way to run all of the wiring to keep it protected better.

Block should be back in 3 weeks line honed, bored to 84.5mm, decked, turned crank, and the rotating assembly all balanced, and the block assembled with the cp pistons eagle rods and vac motorsports bearings and arp hardware... i cant wait its like a a christmas when your young times a million haha, in the mean time I've started cleaning the bay, going to do a shaved bay and the car is getting painted a dark tricoat red, along with the bay and all that, have one in mind but i think its lighter than i thought anyways heres some pics haha Click image for larger version
