90 325i asks for radio code every restart...

So I just had my factory alpine head unit rebuilt. I put the code in and it's works great! All the speakers work and the radio works like new unlike before.

The one caveat is that every time I shut the ignition off and turn it back on, it asks for the radio code again. I put the code in and it works, but it is a bit of an annoyance.

I searched but found very little on this particular problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

What about your stored FM and AM station presets, do they need to be stored again?

No the stations stay stored, which is why it seems so weird to me

Figured it out!

Went out this morning and the station memory was gone

Removed radio and found that the white connector (2 wire) was unplugged. This must be constant 12v because I plugged it in and all is well!
