          I could have sworn that that on MSN's auto channel it said that the big 3.5 six made over 300 horse it think it was a typo on their part 310hp and 266 lb ft??? I cant remember the model now I know it was one of the early 90's 5 series though

            that sounds like E34 M5 S38 engine numbers, most powerful stock m30 variant

                what is the approx length of the driveshaft when doin this conversion with the engine in position 3? n what euro shafts can be used without modding?!

                  It depends on what tranny you are using. The 265 is longer than some of the other m30 trannys. (ask me how I know)

                  We put the engine in position and then measured and sent the shaft off to be shortened.

                      im guessing you meant s38 :?
                      from what i've seen every swap comes out to be different even they all are in position 3 so your best bet would be to get your D.S. done after you have meassured with the engine in, in the actual position that its going to be at.
                      in Ely's swap he was able to use the stock D.S. from a 87 eta with out any modifications.
