    S54 swap fuel delivery options.

So I know about using the factory s54 fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter.

I saw on someone's build thread they used another type of fuel pump but for the life of me I can't find that thread...

I think it started with a "d" brand name

What other or better options for fuel pump are there.

That was Andrew. He used a Deatschwerks DW300.

I kept the stock in-tank unit and replaced the in-line unit with a Walbro. Stock regulator and one of the small in-line filters.

            The stock E30 in-tank pump.

It is just acting as a puller to get fuel out of the tank and to the in-line pump. I had an M3, so it had two pumps stock. I assume it's the same on a standard E30. I originally wanted to change the intank pump to a Walbro and delete the inline pump, but the Walbro wouldn't fit into the opening to the tank.

I'm thinking the way you went is the easiest upgrade WannaBe30... I'll be doing something similar with my swap.

why not just use the E46 pump? it's simple, effective and cheap.

Only late models. The m3 used early model setup that has 2 pumps, a low pressure high volume lifter pump in the tank, external inline high pressure pump to the engine. Everything (except m3) after 1988 used a single pump.

Good info, I forgot about that i knew the earlys did have something different about their fuel system

Because even new with my dealer cost it cost more and I didn't want to buy a used one. But also from what I've heard these are more dependable than the stock one.

I receive it too! Very fast shipping. I'll post some pix on my build thread

Am I correct in assuming that the stock Eta twin pump setup can't supply enough pressure for an S54? I need to replace the external inline pump with a Bosch 044 or similar?

                            Bosh 044 is overkill for a non-turbo S54
