Its for the breather or ventilation system for the valve cover... I hate to start a thread for this but I honestly cannot find this information anywhere. looked all over alldata and for diagrams online everywhere... the lower hose connects to the Idle Control Valve.. where does the bigger vacuum line connect? does it just need to feed into my intake somewhere, like can I tap it into the elbow. or does this engine have an oil separator or something it needs to run to? Thanks in advance

There should be a big hose and a little hose. The big hose goes a 90 degree fitting that snaps into the throttle body boot. The little one goes #9 here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...24&hg=11&fg=40
