I know it's not an e34 or e28, but it is a 5 and it's still old(ish).
I bought my e39 last November. I really wanted a clean e34, but could never find one up to my standards. I came across this e39, a 98 528i/5, looked clean, had all records since new, second owner since 1999.
Seemed great. Exactly what I wanted, i6 manual. Only problem with it was that it was in Maryland and I'm in Alabama. So I call up a family member in the DC area to go take a look at it. He tells me all is good, turns out it has a brand new dealer installed cooling system and all of its other maintenance. A few days later I'm on a plane to go pick it up.
When I picked it up that night. It had at least 10K in maintenance receipts. All oil changes done at the dealership even.
First thing it needed in a big way were headlights. They were hazed over completely, with broken adjusters as a bonus.
So in go OEM facelift euro Hellas. That made a massive difference. Gone is the front plate holder. I also added window tint to keep back the southern summers.
I went and picked up some 17in Style 5's. Always been my one of favorite factory bmw wheels. Perfect for e39's and e30's.
You can see my e30 waiting for it's S54 transplant while my dad's m3 waits for it's garage space back.
Another nice family shot. Posted this in another thread.
e30 parts car making wonderful scenery.
Only things left on my list for this car are sport springs and facelift CELIS tails.
and since this is supposed to be geared more towards e34/e28's here's my friends new e34 535i 5-speed he's picking up this weekend.
