Can someone explain the mbta fare?

I havent rode the Boston subway in 5 years or so and back then I still used tokens. Now I dont get it. A Charlie card is one way? Can I go outbound later on?

My usual route is park off 95 at the end of the D line and take it in to like Government center or Kenmore station and go around from there. Then we usually have tokens left over to go outbound or somewhere else. But now it seems there's no more tokens.

no more tokens, you can load the charlie card with however much you want, and it will store that value, so you can use it whenever you want
