    M42 build questions

I will be tearing an M42 apart soon as I would have gotten one from someone in the area. I want to do a complete rebuild, but I was thinking - if i am in there, why not make it produce a bit more power? What would you guys recommend? I dont have much experience with the BMW 4-bangers...

I could do an SC or a turbocharger setup, or just leave it NA and run a different set of cams/crank, and would the two cases be any different?

    Thank you all.

Downing Atlanta makes a kick ass supercharger good for 197 rwhp

I dont want to do a swap - thats the thing, I have an M50 lying around - but a rebuild would be far too expensive. M42's are easier to make anything on I feel. I wnat a nice, lightweight motor that produces a crapload of power.

Boost is the way to go then. Stock compression and cams with a GT28RS..

or the .70 trim on the left (thats a GT28R on the right)
