Any problem with washing freshly painted body panels?

My driver side fender and trunk have fresh paint on them [did them over the weekend] and I'm wondering if it would hurt them at all to take it to the DIY spray and wash tonight... The car is dirty as hell.

Hand wash only for at least 30 days, no wax for 90. The paint is still going to be soft, and there are chemicals that need to evaporate from the paint until it is cured.

Agree with this most err on the side of caution.

Yes, hand wash only and I wouldn't use a high pressure self serve
          car wash wand either.

Why would you ever take it there? Especially with a black car.

                  Same here

As for the paint, I would wait a few more days to was it, or if you do, using a really soft mit and don't spray the water hard at all.

only reason I ever go to the DIY car wash is to high pressure spray those damned basketweaves..

The pain of washing those itself is a reason to buy some aftermarkets.

be careful not to let the water dry on the car. you will have some nice craters if it does!

                          You're doing something wrong then.

I use a 4" soft-bristle brush and some wheel cleaner and I can get all of them sparkling in ~10 minutes.

I can too! It just takes the right tools.

I have done a full set of Alpine/Kopi style wheels in about 10-15min and a full set of weaves in 10-15min. Use a bristle brush, a good WHEEL CLEANER (not simple green or something that will ruin your wheels), and clean your wheels weekly. You will not run into many problems.
