Funky smell after o2 sensor replacement.

1986 325e. Thanks for all the great info again but I searched on Google and could not find my new issue. I had a crap idle then changed the water temperature sensor as well as o2 sensor. Problems with idle were resolved. The car runs great no white smoke or black or blue but the smell is not regular. The car was started monthly but mainly parked for 4 years. Possibly old gas running out and causing the smell?

This could easily be old gas.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

How long did you let the car run? The cat must be hot enough to burn off all the deposits from sitting that long.

I also added premium chevron gas and hope the smell goes away eventually.
