I wouldn't. I would make an adapter to go from the 25pin to 20pin OR get another e32/e34 5speed or automatic harness with a 20pin c101 (pre 90/91).

if you have the m20 harness and want it running now, use it. Just be sure you have the injector harness correct.

If you want a cleaner look and wiring made for that engine, go with the b35 20-pin.

either will work. I prefer the m30 harness since it looks nicer.

Well has anyone successfully done this yet? I definitely dont know enough about wiring to be the first

You only need a few wires to get the engine up and running, I can make you a 25pin to 20pin adapter if you choose to go this route.

the 20 pin b35 harness is the way to go, its clean, easy and all you have to do is make a connector.

I think he's got a late model e30, so no connector needed in his case. Other than maybe running a wire or two for tach and/or check engine light.

Right, with the 89 b35 manual engine harness it should be plug and play in my late model correct?

im running my 89 325i harness on an 89 e32 b35. I think the easiest way is to use it and just to extend a couple wires in the engine bay (crank position sensor, and tps i think, youll see when youre in there). the b35 computer fit perfectly in my harness and she fired up no issues, everything works on the dash, no need to run any wires or make any adaptors.

One step closer, we got the engine out of the donor car and the rest of the car parted. moved them out and moved the white car into position. i have a few other projects going right now but this one will be done right and have some special touches. will probably debut the new set up at the 2010 picnic. watch out!
