Flash - yeah it's a correct hose with a small side nipple for a vacuum line. Replaced the e30 ignition coil with the smaller e32/e34 coil and it didn't make a difference although it looks cleaner lol. I noticed that if the engine is running and I unplug the ICV idle doesn't shoot up like it did on my m10 when I did the same thing. I need to maybe find another ICV.

Well, tried another ICV today, no difference. Still has this 30-50rpm hunt going on at idle.... it just bugs the shit out of me.

Also tried unplugging the o2 sensor, no difference.

Fixed. I did not put a clamp on the big hose that goes from the intake manifold to the ICV. I honestly didn't think it needed it since it was such a tight fit. Today while letting the engine idle I started feeling / moving that hose a bit and it changed the idle. Stupid me.

        Rock solid now.

I've never had one on there. Maybe something with the swap is making the intake pull on the boot and causing a leak? if the hoses are all new it's pretty tight. but at least you found it!

Nothing is grabbing on the hose, but the hose is soft (new). I could feel it "collapse" or change it's shape a little bit while the engine was idling. As soon as I put the clamp on there it stopped. Now to test this dinan chip lol

Here is a quick video clip -
                E30 with M30B35 idle.Dinan 91 octane 6900 rpm chip

                It's good enough for me.

                  Just FAIL emission test.

Well, 1 out of 2 is the issue,
which is IDLE - emission is too high.

                  5 speed manual.
                  With 92 Octane gasoline.
Currently idles at 830 rpm - 930 rpm.
                  New OEM O2 sensor.
Runs and drives great, no smoke, no funny noise.

                  IDLE
                  Limit 220, currently at 456 = FAIL

                  CRUISE:
                  Limit 150, currently at 118 = PASS

                  What would be the culprit...
( Since this test was done with NO catalytic converter, Yes i know...,but why it passes the "cruise limit", but not "idle limit" ) ?

You tried to pass w/o a cat? I don't think there is anyway you can pass w/o one, especially on idle when the emissions are usually at their highest....

I know this might be off topic,
but if u haven't tried or heard about mid 90's Honda Civic,
FYI, it EASILY passes emission test with NO catalytic converter.
At least i've done it twice.
                      Just .02

I can't see a huge 3.5L straight 6 with very early fuel injection system doing that. It was not made to be a super clean running motor.

BTW - I've got a steady idle. Huts a bit when cold out (40 deg and below)
