Would an F20C fit into an E30?

It's too tall or something, right?

Please post pictures, there were some Japanese ppl that did this a few years ago but I can't find pics.

Don't remember one in an E30. But there was that Japanese e36 that had one that was running the Touge or whatever.
Yes its tall and the hood was "popped" permanently to allow it to fit in the e36.

What do you have brewing yo?

Yeah, I remember an F20C powered touge BMW a while back, but I forgot it was an E36.

I'm just at work idly dreaming of E30s and engine swaps.

I have a friend who was considering putting one in a '02. Not sure if the project ever got off the ground. May want to search the o2 forum.

Someone definitely put one in an e30. It was posted on here a few years ago.

This is my bmw which i used for the sideways racing championship in n.ireland.It raced in an open class with no restrictions which had 500bhp...

This isn't the one I was talking about but as you can see it's been done - more than once.
This guy modded the hell out of the firewall to move it way way far back but I don't think that is necessary.

This engine is perfect for the e30 IMO. Light front end for great handling with nice sporty high revving power. The e30 is light - even lighter than an s2000 - so it doesn't need a lot of torque either. Oh and I hear the transmission that this engine pairs up with is amazing.:nice:

That's pretty damn good for the S14 for being developed more than a decade before the F20C.
