Hello my name is Corbin, I am Brandon's(F34R) little brother. I have been viewing since 2012, posting now since I am building one now.
I picked up this Saphirblau Metallic 1984 318i from Forum member Katfish. Has about 130k on the strong running m10. I got this car to build instead of my '86 325 ETA. Clean body and paint and a solid car to put money into.
What we have done so far: My brother tracked down the starting issue to the main power eyelet in the fuse box. It was ruined from moisture damage from the rubber fuse box grommet pulled away. Cut the eyelets off and replaced them.
Also resolved the relays for the headlights not working.
What I did:
-Repainted the grills and headlight rings(sanded first).
-Installed the iS DB front apron and rewired/mounted fog lights in it.
-Repainted all the bumper trim and bumper shrouds.
-Rocker chip guard and repainted the rear underside with chip protection.
-Degreased the engine and checked the hoses for cracks. Cleaned the ICV and adjusted the idle.
-Detailed the outside and waxed it.
-Installed my bike rack.
Current plans
-Powdercoat some of the engine parts.
-Lower it a bit with spare stuff my brother has laying around
-Dye the interior black and might buy my brother's sport interior from his vert.
-5spd swap the m10, my brother has a 5spd from his 2002 laying around.
-Upgrade the stereo speakers
Long term plans
-5 lug swap
-Mirroring my Brother's Ground Control suspension on Polly
-M30 swap
-Wheels(style 32 or style 66)
