    Respray

    Hi folks,

The new E30 I just purchased has a pretty massive dent on the edge of the (original) hood. My paintless dent removal person said they couldn't remove it without making it worse.

So, I'm considering replacing the hood. But, of course, that would mean I'd have to respray another hood piece to match to my existing paint.

My question is: What's the longevity for a resprayed piece to maintain its color match to the original color it was matched to?

I have no problem with getting the best respray I can for the money. But, I'm worried respraying anything sets me down a path of needing to constantly respray that piece every few years to keep it matched?

    Thoughts?

I don't understand... why would the color change? Color matching a panel isn't a temporary thing. They just paint it the same color as the other paint.

The respray color will last a long time. The hard part is matching it to the original color.
