91 325i Turboing

Hey fellow Revlimiters, Im looking into turboing my engine (M20 2.5). Now my goal is to make it produce about 400/+Hp. For those who have done it i would appreciate some input on how and what i should be using to reach this. My ideal budget is about 4-5 grand. And yes i have seen the kits that TCD and Kamotors offer but being me i would rather source out the parts and build it myself :D

Also i would like to know what people have used for
*turbo manifold
*clutch
*injectors
*intercooler
*brakes
and what power yous have produced
