Wiper issues 91 535i

Okay so I have a 1991 535i and its having some wiper issues. So the normal wiper fictions all work and turn off. But when you go to clean the windsheild they don't shut off. They will keep running until the car is shut off. Then when you turn the power back on they will reset to their normal position.

What could cause this?

Also the wiring harness is hacked up from the P.O. The windsheild sprayer bottle was missing and there are a bunch of wires down in that area that are cut. I think some of it was a/c. But what color wires should I be looking for to connect to the the sprayer pump?

Having the same issues with two of my E30s, I just pull the wiper relay, whack it, and re-install. Good for a few more months.

Yep, wiper relay under seat can be strange like that. Mine used to chose when to work, just see if you can find an other relay at a yard for starters.
