    Turbo diesal questions...

I may have found a 524td crank to buy, since I was thinking of boosting sometime down the road.

After running some part numbers, a 1990, E34, 524td runs the same motor as an E28. Am I wrong, or is this correct?

The car the crank would come from is a 1990 524td.

    Thanks!

don't waste your money. the TD crank is heavier and your low revving, low compression E crank has probably had an easier life. just have it polished and get new bearings, it will be fine.

Think so? Even if I could get it cheap, and am thinking of boosting in the future?

      Makes sense, too.

I found a TD crank for like $60.

But if it really won't make a difference, I won't even bother. lol

pick it up and resell it for $100+ in profit, use that to pay for the rest of your motor. :D

Does the 524td turbo manifold bolt up to the M20 motor?

almost does, just need to notch it in 6 places and your done. If you can get that cheap enough i'd snag that as well. They aren't worth what they used to be though.
