my 84' fuel rail has two connections: one for the fuel going into the rail, and the other hooked up to the cold start injector?

Head came of an 84 or 85 (I forgot) 318i with k-jet fuel injection/intake manifold etc. I haven't taken the one on my car off yet..
chances are that you have cc as mirror image to your piston top - is this something I should be concerned about ?

Both have injector holes in head(ok not all k-jets).
If I see right, head says 1,8 so it must be k-jet, since Kugelfischer was never available to 1,8l m10.
Jean, chances are that you have cc as mirror image to your piston top, since that seems to be vintage head.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

Are you sure it's 84-85 head? I know that eurospec e30 never had k-jet, might be U.S.-euro difference or maybe some e28's had k-jet.Current:

If they are plugged, the car you pulled it didn't have k-jet.Current:

Here is a bigger picture, I'll take a close up shot when I get home but they don't appear to be plugged.

Ok I am confused, what "light spot between intake ports" are you guys talking about ? I just realized you guys weren't talking about the spark plug tips...Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205
