    Early E21 320i had 2.0 litre engine

      In Europe 1,8 version was called 318i and 320i was only production for 1975-1977.

              While I guess we could say that BMW has indeed manufactured a FWD car, we can still say that there has never been any FWD BMWs sold to the public. I don't know about prototypes, so I didn't generalize there...
