I'm in the final stage of reinstalling all the new shifter parts along with the Z3 1.9 shifter but have run into an issue of trying to reinstall the selector rod. The old rod joint is bit wider and off-center while the new one is shorter and centered so when I try to install the selector rod the same way (the longer end on the joint) there is extra that sticks out. Did I buy the wrong joint, push the rod all the way in (leaving extra towards the right) or center it? Also, if I try to install the shorter-side of the selector rod on the shifter but I seem to have the opposite issue of not enough space to put a circlip on the end with the two yellow washers.
I'm also trying to replace my CSB and can't seem to pull the two halves apart. I've turned (counterclock-wise to loosen?) the clamping sleeve to where I can just see some splined coupling but I can't seem to turn anymore. Do I somehow keep turning until it separates or do I need to just hammer the rest out? TIA.
