    tranny question.

    i was driving and everything was fine until i noticed that the RPM R3ved freely like it was on neutral. checked it was in drive tried dropping it in to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc and no go. pulled to the side and i would not budge. i know its the tranny but I'm just asking what happened? if you know the possibilities please let me know.

    How do you know it's for sure the transmission? Could be a clutch problem.

      sorry to mention the car is Auto... but I did have an experience about 8 years ago where my clutch went out on my 240 and it basically feels like the same thing.

        this happened to my auto. never figured out what exactly went wrong, just did the 5 speed swap. something maybe goes wrong with the clutches inside the trans, or the selectors? im not sure, but on my auto when i spin either the output flange or the torque converter, the other side doesn't spin like it should,

        I wouldn't worry about it at all, just put in a nice manual transmission and drive like a man.
