I know I asked a couple months ago about exhaust size and it was said 2.5 will be fine. Well as much as everyone won't believe me, I plan to go turbo by the end of the year and am wondering if it would hurt to just have the 3 inch exhaust done now [because I have to do exhaust when the car goes back together]. It will be a bit big while still NA but when it's turbo obviously it will need the 3 inch. Might just lose a little power right now, eh?

im not postive if u will lose power on the e30 with a 3in exhaust but i do know that on N/A 240's with the 3inch exhaust they actually gain power alot of power to be exact..ill search and see if i can find the link but i doubt it...you may not loose as much as you think you will...also i wanna see some pics of what type of muffler you plan to use....JDM no more

If you are going turbo, what kind of exhaust manifold are you gonna use? Full or adapter? Reason I ask is if you are changing your headers now as you are N/A, it would be a waste of money if you plan on swapping it out for a turbo header later. If you went pro turbo adapter or something like that I'm not even sure they will bolt up to an updated shorty style header like the ireland engineering ones for instance.
I think 3inch would not be that bad. Certainly managable until you go turbo.
