    Running 3 inch now

I know I asked a couple months ago about exhaust size and it was said 2.5 will be fine. Well as much as everyone won't believe me, I plan to go turbo by the end of the year and am wondering if it would hurt to just have the 3 inch exhaust done now [because I have to do exhaust when the car goes back together]. It will be a bit big while still NA but when it's turbo obviously it will need the 3 inch. Might just lose a little power right now, eh?

Might as well do it now if you're going to end up changing it to a 3 inch when you turbo.

im not postive if u will lose power on the e30 with a 3in exhaust but i do know that on N/A 240's with the 3inch exhaust they actually gain power alot of power to be exact..ill search and see if i can find the link but i doubt it...you may not loose as much as you think you will...also i wanna see some pics of what type of muffler you plan to use....

I plan on headers and straight piping all the way to this muffler at the back.

That's what I am worried about...

Might need to add a center muffler or a resonator.

(A turbo will fix the sound though, whenever I actually do that)

If the turbo isnt CARB cetified, I dont think you will pass the visual.

I just want those tips. My car has stupid DTM tips on the Magnaflow, and I HATE them.

If you are going turbo, what kind of exhaust manifold are you gonna use? Full or adapter? Reason I ask is if you are changing your headers now as you are N/A, it would be a waste of money if you plan on swapping it out for a turbo header later. If you went pro turbo adapter or something like that I'm not even sure they will bolt up to an updated shorty style header like the ireland engineering ones for instance.

I think 3inch would not be that bad. Certainly managable until you go turbo.

Well the headers were free, so no worries there. Once I will go turbo I will just remove them and sell them. I sold my whole stock exhaust system but saved the manifolds for when I go turbo. I will be getting a Proturbo adapter [replica].

                              Here's the headers...
