Just got back in the game. Have been too busy to think about "Whitey" (my white '87 325is) other than as a transportation device. By chanse some gentelman flagged me down in a parking lot last week when he saw me driving by, I figured another person unhappy with my hand gestures but he wanted to know if I would be interested in a bronze/gold 88 325is that his wife was bustin his balls to get out of their garage. $100 with a legit title, straight body, and an engine as useful under the hood as a boat anchor. Drawback numero uno, automatic four speed! Oh well, unlike my current ride this will not be tolerated. So I'm thinking SR20DET with a five speed, I've had more hands on experience with it than with anyother engine (besides my own, you know how that is). Anybodies opinion (other than thoes who's knee jerk reaction is to shoot it down)? (and yes I have studied multiple write ups on it)
I like the engine and the power that it is capable of producing but I dont know about the Nissan/BMW thing there are some enthusiast that might hang you for that kind of treason.
look around for "bimmubishi", who swapped a mitsu 4g63 into his e30; i know it's not the same motor but he may have some advice as to what you'll have to worry about.
good luck.
Why, oh and it's silvia? Me no get
i should have directed that at original poster- he spelled it with a Y in the topic subject.

Ok, ok, ok, I'll keep tight lipped on my plans and designs for this project cause everyone will hate it. I'm not gonna loose any sleep over it. But lately I've been doing lots of body work and other wrenching craps on my buddies Nissan Sil-Eighty conversion and lets say I've been inspired.
