I had a similar problem with the rear water plate bolts. Snapped 4 clean off in the block.
I ended up drilling through 3/4 of them, tapping a size up with no helicoil. The 4th one I tried using an easy-out, which snapped off in the bolt. I dont have anything that drills thru hardened tool steel. I ended up welding a nut on it, and it actually unscrewed the bolt after a few nut attempts. I put a thin layer of silicone on both sides of the gasket, I never want this to leak ever again.
    We're in deep now boys

Fuck me running. I'm trying to get back into this project and it's gonna be a bitch just trying to remember what's next.

Z3 2.9 turn lock-to-lock with spacers installed. I was not into the idea of bending the tabs too much so this took much longer than it should have.

Gave the trans a little TLC with a brass wire brush.

These style 5's are too big at 17x8, especially with the offset of ET20, the nuts on the inside rim were scraping on the calipers.

The off-center control arm bushings were too much caster with the bigger wheels/tires also.

The bad fitment of the Style 5's I bought on a whim got me to start using my google-fu for what I wanted in the first place...

STYLE 32!!! A set of 4 17x7.5 ET41 sourced from 3 different sellers on Ebay

Those 32's look so damn good on the E30. The rotors filling almost the entire inside is sexy AF too

Got a set of 225/45/r17 Pilot AS/3's with 80% tread for a really good deal. One is already mounted. Waiting for the 4th wheel to arrive to get the other 3 mounted.

aaand I finally did a test fit last night of just the motor and mounts!!! Seeing the M62 between the frame rails really reinvigorated me. I'm determined to get this done now!

I got it all tucked in by my damn self too. I got the bushings and bolts all lined up on my first 15th try.
