however, if you just fix the car a little at a time and make it presentable and safe to drive, you will wind up with a really nice daily driver. thats probably the best you can hope for with a car that needs that much work.

someone switched out the white interior on my car for black at some point in its lifetime. personally, i am not a fan of lotus anyway, so it actually makes it more desirable to me the way i acquired it.

btw, i would be willing to trade mine for an e30 m3 project.
I get a large discount on paint and paint supplies and would do all the prep work myself so paint wouldn't really set me back. My biggest expense would be the interior and top. I also got the car stupid cheap and it only has 95,000 miles. Just trying to get an idea of what a car with nice fresh paint, new upholstery and mechanically sound would sell for.

My triple black is a Canada car. Had to go to Vancouver, BC, for it. That Lotus interior would be a bear to keep clean. I love the black...even in Texas. Still looks great. Oh, and mine is a factory 5 speed and has heated seats. I don't think there were many built with that spec. Build sheet is under back seat. Not sure if has LSD or not. Not stated on build sheet, but some seem to think all came with one. I doubt it. All z3M Roadsters have a LSD and it is stated on the build sheet.

Thanks, Todd. As I suspected. In fact, I do remember the paperwork showing the diff rebuild. Knew it was a 3.73, but there has been some speculation on the 770 and 771 cars about the LSD. I just always suspected it had to be special ordered and would be on the build sheet. The LSD was not part of the M Technic option for either full or appearance cars, as evidenced by the image of options sheet above.

Was the 3.73 the stock option? Mine is also a tripple black Canadian 5 speed. Tag is unreadable, feels like a 4.10, super short.

Todd, are you also on a jeep forum? Found 1 other black Canadian owner there a while ago. PM'd but didn't get a response.

I believe it was for the full M techs only as part of the "Luxury" package. Even the 325iS came with LSD as standard as part of the Sport suspension package.

If it was a factory 5 speed then it came with a 3.73. Auto came with 4.10 post 1988.

For a price reference, I'd ask $9300 Dillon7 with my hardtop and stand. Paint is a solid 8.5/10. The car has ALL matching panels, which is a major key for me in older BMW car purchases. I also don't have the original white seats.. Yes these cars are rare, but no one except enthusiasts know what they are, while everyone knows what a m3 is.

I have an Mtech I might be willing to sell

PM me if interested. I purchased this car a couple years ago...I would want north of $18k though to sell. I love the car, and would probably sell in order to buy a low mile e46 M3.

My appearance package came with a 410lsd, confirmed from records. Original owner must have ordered it that way

                          ^Is your car an auto?

I decoded my car, but nothing came up for these door cards. Someone on here told me it was an option? They HAD to come from the factory however. I bought the car from the original owner who did literally nothing to the car, including washing it! I just found it funny there wasn't an option number for them.

Edit: Forgot to mention the "map pockets" are also wrapped in leather, while the door pullers are just normal in white.

Your car has an option code of S770a, which is the appearance package code. It includes everything in the "white" column on the options sheet in post #17.
