Ideas to reduce interior rattles over harsh road?

I've had an e30 for 4 years as DD and I keep noticing how it rattles over harsh road -
centre console, door pocket, front seats, glovebox, dashboard, etc..

My interior is pretty tight and in good condition.
But the noise it makes over sharp bumps and small potholes makes the ride quality harsher than it actually is.

What would be a good idea to reduce these noises?
Over smooth road it's silent, but I wish there are ways to reduce the interior noise.
I could try to put foam strips between centre consoles..

Take stuff apart, fix any broken clips, or jam something between whatever still rattles. Foam, double sided tape, etc.

My personal rattle prevention philosophy currently relies entirely on bumping my idle up a few hundred RPM...

Go to home depot and get about 40 cans of that expanding foam. Zip tie them so that they start spraying, and chuck them in sunroof like a 'nade.

Actually - have a friend drive your car while you crawl around searching for noises. Then just get creative on fixes.

if you have rattles, then by definition your interior isn't tight - something is loose.

Its part of the charm, and TBH its going to drive you crazy chasing down the rattles and trying to "fix" them

Not to be "that guy," but the only rattle I have now is my sunglass case in the door pocket.

It is possible to remove rattles.

The volume control knob on my stereo fixes all of them.

yeah, I don't think E30s are inherently rattle traps. it's more that over time, people break clips & lose screws that hold things together, so it's not solid any longer.

that said, I couldn't tell you if my car had many rattles - between the exhaust & tire noise, I can't hear anything. Plus I always drive it with the windows down. :p

Yeah windows down is the way to go

I think the only things that really rattle loud enough in mine to bother is when things get left in door pockets.

Oh and my drivers door rattles at 110mph :/
