    885 Head

So I can get an 885 head with all internals for $100 bucks. This a pretty good deal? Thinking about swapping the head and accessories onto my stock eta bottom end. Also, how much should i expect to pay a shop to swap the head? Just so I know the options. May just end up doing it myself.

    Thanks.

Also, I've read all the posts on whats needed and have been searching for awhile. Might get the head blocked so it matches up better with the pistons. Also, would probably be turbo'ing later so I will probably end up running a different management system.

It should be whatever the book time is to replace a head gasket.

$100 is a very good deal but expect to spend $150 or more at the machine shop with their work. Have them check valve guides, valve seats, valves and for flatness and cracks.
Look for rockers with concaved surfaces and replace those. Look for scoring on the cam and cam journals and replace the valve guide seals and other seals.
You have to replace the head bolts (~$45) and all the gaskets too. Gasket sets for the top end are about $120 and then you will be replacing the timing belt, tensioner and probably water pump.....
