                      Is there a guide to what the different letters after the numbers like 318i,
                      318ic, 318es, 318is, 325ix, 325e... etc mean (I know some of those 'prolly
                      don't exist, I was just guessing at the pattern, assuming there may be a pattern)

                        yes, 3= 3 series
                        18= 1.8liter
                        25= 2.5liter
                        28=...
                        just my guess
                        e probably means economy or something
                        no idea what i means
                        s is sport
                        x is ... 4wd or some shit

                          "i" Stands for injected. In e30's, it was used to deferential between "i" and "eta" engines. Eta were the "e" engines. They were both fuel injected.

                          The 16, 18, 20, 23, 25 standing for engine size has been mostly true for e30's (except eta's). As you get to newer BMWs it's slightly less true (335i, e46 323i, etc.).
                          The first car I ever rode in was an e30

                            325e are the eta engines that have the SAVAGE 2.7l motor most desirable engine of the e30s. ;)
