Got my car off of Ebay too, but long story short. Was driving a GTI at the time, drove down to Chula Vista to look at it in person, check everything out (and it was spotless), immediately drove my GTI to the VW dealership down the road, sold it, got the bank to send me check for loan, bought my E30 and drove it back up to LA haha.
Couldn't be happier with it, sometimes you find gems.
