Help identify PO's strut spring

This strut came apart while driving. It would appear the large nut unscrewed out of the top of the strut housing. It looks as if the PO had put m3 springs in the stock strut/shock. Any info would be great,This came out of my 1988 325ic,,,,,tytyty

Looks like the spring was cut. There is a part # stamped into the spring if it was not cut off.
