Are the ring and pinion interchangable between LSD and open diffs?

168mm small case e30 diff and 168mm ring and pinion. I'm pretty sure they are, but I just wanted confirmation. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the carrier break is for a 168 (or if there is one). It's 3.07 and down vs. 3.15 (3.25?) and up on 188's.

The 168 only goes down to a 3.40, and they're all the same carrier, that I've found,
from 3.40 to 4.44. I haven't messed with the ultra- low 5.29, etc.
