Blower shroud fresh air doors help

I pulled my blower motor out today and in doing so I saw the passenger side (what I'm guessing) fresh door is broken. It looks like the tab which connects the linkage broke off the door. It looks like the door portion clips into the rest of the shroud, maybe, hopefully for easy replacement. I can't seem to the doors to move via the controls inside. Could someone explain this system to me as far as how it works and the best route to fix. Thanks

The fresh air doors are controlled by the orange recirculate button below the A/C button and are driven by electric motors. The key has to be ON or the engine running, I forget which, for the doors to operate.
