    188mm ring and pinion question

I would like to swap a 3.25 or 3.23 ring and pinion into my med case 3.73 LSD. My question is are nearly all 188mm r and p's created equal? I'm assuming I have 12mm bolts holding my ring to the carrier. The 3.23 is 14mm correct? So unless I plan on drilling out my carrier (just joking) I can't use the 3.23 right?
You say "Where are your other two cylinders?"
I say "Where's your other camshaft?"

There are 2 carriers, due to the 'tall' or low- ratio diffs having a bigger pinion.
I THINK the change is at about 3.64, but I forget. There was a thread a coupla years back...

So is it possible to use my 3.73 lsd carrier in a 3.25 e28 diff? I think I found one.

I am pretty sure the 3.25 carrier is different than the 3.73, due to pinion size...

The change in offset for carrier caps is between 3.07/3.15.
Anything 188mm on the same side of that split should be interchangeable, save new stuff with welded ring gears and other witchcraft.
Most likely will require new shims too.

I found and open 3.25 to swap the carrier to. I'm figuring that will be easier than re setting pinion depth etc. I think I'll prob do a fresh up while in there.

Shit, thanks, Northern, my bad. I'd only looked at 2.73 and 2.93....
