Just got done replacing my odo gears and they still don't work. I made sure to blow all the old crap out and still nothing. When i opened the cluster, I could smell what smelled like to me a blown capacitor but not sure if that could be the case?

How did you get them to straighten out? I compared gears before putting them on and they are correct size and order

Double check your gears, in my situation I said screw it. I threw away that brand new fucked up gear and reused the OG 30yr old one (but installed the other gears provided).

I've used garagistic gears several times with good results. You do need to be mindful of the little yellow keepe that slide s over the main shaft.myou have to remove the cover plate on the other end and support the shaft as you shove that keeper on otherwise you risk damaging the drive motor.
I did meet Jeff from Odometer Gears at lastbbyears Vintage and grabbed a set from him that have also worked as intended. Jeff seems to be a stand up guy and hisngears are US made (take that fwiw). They also don't use that yellow keep since he claims his tolerances are tighter.
