    Update:

I contacted both BBA and Module Masters. BBA told me they weren't able to repair the unit, so an exchange unit had to be used in place of it. Apparently it was somewhat ruined or destroyed in the process of when ASI "fixed" it. Whether it is true or not, I don't have much of a choice, so they are in the process of sending me a replacement. BBA offers a lifetime warranty on it for as long as I own the vehicle, so I went with them. Module masters sent me an email stating the 5DF5 error means the unit can't be worked on, basically what BBA said.

I just found Module Masters in in ID, nice, but if I'm in the same situation as you, it doesn't help.

By chance, care to share what you end up spending for the BBA replacement?

IIRC I paid $129 for mine and shipping to them was on my dime. I had it in hand three days after they received it.

That was a few years ago, and I remember their prices went through a pretty significant increase not too long after that. I'm not sure how they compare currently though.

Eh, although I'm not proud of it, I did have to fork out $450, but that is because these fucking dickheads in Tennessee nearly destroyed mine and rendered it useless.

Yeah, it seems it has definitely went up compared to when you sent yours in. Looking a few old threads from other websites, that seemed to be the average rate.

Nice. Hopefully ASI will honor their refund commitment to you.

I am taking no chances and disputed the charge with USAA. It's easy to say one thing and do another nowadays. Sad, but it's how things are now.

I don't think I will have any major issues considering I have an invoice stating it isn't able to be repaired. I sent it to USAA so that will aid them.
