    Looking @ an E30

Good evening, I'm most familiar with the E46 generation of BMW's. I've always been curious about the E30, and I think it's time for me to get my self into one.

    I've found an E30, infact it's a 1987 "325"

I know there is a 325e,and a 325i. I emailed the guy asking if it was a 325e, and it claims it's an "325". I was wondering if there even is such a thing? or if anyone could enlighten me.

    thanks,
    Jace

Yes, the 325 was made from '84-'88

Can anyone give me a quick description of the "325" and how its different than the 325i/e, or if lazy give a link to read about it?

          quick description:

325 and 325e have the same "eta" engine. M20B27. 120hp and 170ish torque, 4500rpm rev limit. I think a 325e is the two door version, and the 325 is the four door.

325i is the "better" one. Has the M20B25. 168hp but less torque than m20b27. 6500rpm rev limit.

            Thank you.

Just got off the phone with him, sounds like it needs a new rear corner panel, does anyone have a guestimate how much it would cost to have a shop do it for me?

I would guess four days labor. Local shop charges $45/hour, some double that.

In 1987 and 1988 the "e" was dropped, making it 325 only. 325 is an eta in 87 and seta in 88.

Not true, the "e" was used until 1986, and dropped starting 1987. A 325e can be a 2 door or 4 door in 84-86. Same for a 87-88 325, can be 2 door or 4 door.

go find another E30 that doesn't. The money it would cost to fix would buy you another E30

Found another '87 325is with 120k miles for about 3 grand but it has hail damage. Wondering if I should tackle this or not.
