So i can buy a used compressor and slap it in but i read somewhere that i need to change out some seals in the unit to be compatible with r134?

You just need to get r134 valve connectors for the high and low side where the hoses connect on to evac and recharge the a/c system.

I love having a daily with A/C, bluetooth, power everything, and plenty of power. Then having a second car to get wild in is a nice problem to have.

Now you just need a bike to take unnecessary risk and you're all set.

Just got my daily e36 back on the road, AC full blast all day. feel like a proper human again. Also didn't realize how damn loud the e30 is on the highway... e36 interior was eerily quiet

Idk, I'm digging the whole a/c thing, haven't turned it off once since yesterday.
Getting older and fatter, it's definitely a must.

I believe those are already there. My car was converted to 134 back in 2004 (it has a conversion sticker). I've charged the system with regular store bought 134 canisters before so i think those fittings are the right ones. So it's a straight compressor swap for me? I read about draining and flushing the lines to remove metal from the lines as well.

R12 was banned and expensive. Instead of using freeze 12,etc... I like many others decided to remove the compressor and do without. It's fine since i don't commute in them but it's still nice to have. The s14 really didn't like the compressor anyway. At least not that kind of compressor.

So the only way to have AC is to convert the system to 134 if it hasn't already been done?

What's the average cost to do this?
