Very very nice touring mate, awesome work.

I was hunting for a tech2 spoiler for mine for a while, but gave up in the end...

Thanks guys. There is a plan to make copies of my spoiler. Just that it has been complicated to get that done in the time frame I wanted.

Not sure how prices are, if I recall the guys up in Ringwood had a nice collection of e30 parts. Just cost a small fortune, I assume it has been harder to find good used parts. For tourings, not sure what you need to do to get specific idems Europe or Japan...

Stay tuned. More coming, as I have a whole Headlight washer system getting revamped. May have had enough luck to dig up some other stuff.

So far I can say, the D pillar trims have been the most annoying thing, the tabs usualy snap off, or enough of them snap off for it to make refitting an ass. Same for the C pillar trims but they are held on better and can live without all the tabs... In case someone was planning to doing the headliner on theirs :)

Thats a very interesting front coilover setup! Is that just something you had laying around or was there a specific choice for that particular spring?

Amazing work... I love the color (but I'm a bit biased ;) )

The spring dictated the rest of the setup for the front coilover setup.

Unfortunately in my part of the world I don't have an abundance of springs to choose from. So to start the whole idea rolling, I bought roughly the spring I thought would get the job done for the least the amount I could buy one for.

Obviously I took hints from the spring rate master list, the honda and ford community - especially from the ford escorts :). Some off the shef parts, help from friends and a lot of measuring. I knew from the start I didn't want to be stuck with proprietary springs and for the car too be to stiff, nor too low... As years of driving low cars mainly e30s on our roads, means you are weaving around pothoes, tram tracks, cobble stone streets that sometimes have a stone or 2 missing.

                        Cheers

The exhaust starts with some bits and bobs. Bends, pipe, bosses and v band clamps :)

Some messing abount and sticking together to make sure it all fits

And them we can see that there are problems with the oil filter housing. Also for the astute observer, this was all test fitted on my friends cabrio.

then get it all stuck together

A quick description, the oil filter housing needs to be rotated 90° so that the oil filter faces down. Hoses will need to be made to have this work. Further more there is a Lambda (O2 sensor) boss ~1m away from the turbo - this is per instructions for O2 sensors. Also the ETG sensor should be before the turbo, however no room and in case of maintenance it would be a pin to get at. I have been informed that they burn out.

The WG should also be perpendicular to the exhaust at 90° - again no room due to A/C

Then the time came for a change to ARP head studs but first some more bits just in case - I didn’t plan on taking the head off because the engine is a budget stroker with ETA pistons and 2.5 head. I bought a new head gasket just in case and then I was offered a MLS head gasket for a pittance.

Took the turbo apart to inspect it and clock it

Then, well lets just say fun times were had by all. We put a stud in and it tore out the thread between 6-5 cylinder on exhaust side.

So with some hesitation went with helicoils - the idea is to but time serts here but I was afraid that it would require too large of a hole - and on the m20, there is limited room

                              With MLS and head studs

The stuts are tighhtened to 95nm - note that everything was cleaned in detail :). So while there (famous last words) I added some assurance.

Then it came time to make some holes.

The oil pain is currently being wielded, it will have a baffle and I will be adding a windage tray. Also just cause it will need it, I bought a Sachs performance clutch. It should be good for ~450nm (as per testing from a friend)
