Ice White vs Alpine White II?

Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between ice white and Alpine White II? Just naming? Or different color code/appearance?

I see the term is used in the South African market

"This immaculate example of the 333i with just 90,000km on the clock, in Aero silver happens to be the nicest of the four colours in which they were offered, these included Diamond black, Henna red and Ice white."

Here are some photos and links to 2 blogs that reference it.

It's gotta just be alpine white or alpine white II, some kind of translation I guess.

That's interesting. Paint code 317 comes up as Orient Blue everywhere, even that website you linked. But there's a couple of other overlapping codes as well. Seems there's enough evidence that it was an actual color.

That is an actual bmw colour. That's the colour of my E30. I couldn't find any more info as far as colour codes go. Because of this rarity I chose my username.

I was getting ready to spray my car in alpine white 3. Code 300, but I'm going to look into the ice white

Don't have any decent pics of my car, but this is the actual colour sticker from the car. Same as my avatar.
