    Taking apart inside the hardtop

Anyone familiar with taking apart the interior of the hardtop?

My headliner is sagging and would love to redo it myself. Just weary of taking it apart and breaking things since it's NLA.

Any advice (and pictures) would be greatly appreciated :)

The only thing you need to take off is the handles and then you can pull the headliner back.

You can reglue most of it that way (I did) but to replace it completely I think the back window has to come out

Thanks guys, I had a tough time getting the rear off. But I guess I won't be able to. Damnit.

Not sure how they did it, but the trim shop that replaced my headliner did not remove the rear window.

You don't need to remove the rear window.

How do you remove the rear corner panels?

There is no need. The fabric can be removed and replaced without touching those panels. Buy a set of plastic interior trim tools to aid getting back under.

It was less than $300 and I just picked from their standard material selections. Looks good, but I have no idea how close it is to the original fabric. Would a picture be helpful, since I'm otherwise clueless?

Nahh...the stock fabric is junk anyway. Its the process that interests me since I've read the window has to come out to do it right.

May be a winter project if I run out of things to do :-)

Its a heavy lift but someone has to do it.

My headliner clearly goes under the seal for the back window so I'd say its a toss up whether it can be replaced with the window there
