    6k sounds crazy to me, but as we see these are not available everywhere and the prices are going up. Would I pay that, not likely unless there was a lot of recent maintenance. Otherwise he may have kept it up, but t may be coming up on a lot of maintenance, hence the sale.

      I did some looking around when I found a similarly priced high mileage m42 in my recent car search and saw one of the bigger issues with high mileage was the teeth for the timing chains would go causing big problems. I'm not sure how wide spread that issue was but I saw enough posts that it scared me away.

        What's especially crazy is that threads like this wouldn't have existed 5 years ago. Nobody (not even an e30 fan) would consider spending anything over 2g in the US for a car like this with rust.

        Now there's serious buyers who are willing to spend serious coin on these cars requiring work.
