that turned out to be a mistake- the gas filler neck on this thing needed to be replaced and that caused the pump to shut off early unless you held it *just so*. once i figured that out, it took the normal 14 gallons.

this poor car was left to sit for a long time... lots of neglect issues to deal with. but luckily, work, home, girlfriend and music gigs are all walking distance in san francisco- so this is a toy, not a daily.

so there's certainly been a disappointing lack of progress on this car- but it's been serving me well.

i would like to share one thing i did with it- a supply run to the national guard & salvation army during the northern california wildfires earlier in the year. it turns out a baur actually makes a very field-expedient cargo vehicle- drop the rear window and open the trunk and you can load-in/load-out in a hurry:

the car's been in storage for a while because the registration was already expired when i bought it, and i am guessing that was because the PO brought it into the state and then discovered what a fucking pain in the ass it is to get and keep a grey-market car legal in california. each time i went to the DMV i had to re-explain the story of the car because they had trouble finding it in the system.

after a few trips to the DMV, the last of which was today, i've finally got current tags.

with the car road-legal, work can begin.

happy new year, all- 2018 should show some good progress on this little beastie.

I've decided to sell this car. I was too impulsive in buying it, and living in SF now, I don't have anywhere to work on it. It should go to someone who wants to (and has the resources to) bring out its potential.

PM for more details if you're interested.
