    Remote brake booster solution

This is my second iteration of a relocated stock vacuum booster. This one, is the ticket.

Sorry about the shaky video, I was pushing on the brake pedal and filming at the same time :)

Basically, it is a 3/4" steel rod moving through a linear bearing (both purchased on McMaster-Carr) and a few linkages fabricated out of 3/4" and 1" tubing. The clamping bolts allow easy removal of the setup, but inside the sliding tubes the steel rod dead heads against the smaller 3/4" tube, so the clamp bolts aren't holding pedal pressure.

Just sharing another option for others looking for a booster solution to their LS1 swap!

Very impressive and clean. I wish I had any type of fab skills to make something like this :/

That is a pretty cool setup. The thing that's always irked me about these v8 swaps is losing the power brakes.

You'd be shocked at how stock the bakes can feel with a proper manual setup. With a 3/4" master cylinder it really does feel like a slightly less effective stock, vacuum assisted car

Thanks for the comments guys. Drove it around this weekend, brakes feel great, nice pedal pressure.

Just need to figure out a firewall seal to keep the heat out of the cabin. Gets HOT in there!

HVAC tape is what I used to seal up all my holes. Make sure to clean the surrounding area pretty good, the stuff I've always used has never had the best adhesive

Yeah, I've used aluminum tape here and there, but for this I need a flexible boot to move with the lever arm rod thingy.

Awesome idea with the linear bearings.
I was wondering when someone was going to do this.
Thought about it a while back.
What kind of Booster & master cylinder are you using?
                      Keep up the great work.
