Difference between manual/auto air intake boots

Hey all, can't seem to find the answer to my question.

    My car:
    '90 325i
Automatic swapped to G260 by PO
    m20b25

On Pelican and realOEM there are different air intake boots listed for automatic and manual cars. What's the difference? Which boot will I need for my car?

    Auto: 13-71-1-726-205
    Manual:
    13-71-1-726-325

Should I have changed the boot when I had my 92 vert switched from auto to manual? Seems to run fine, but has always idled a little rough.

No, as far as I know as long as everything matches it doesn't make a difference. The late M20B25s had the boot without the extra nipple and only one vacuum line to the brake booster. The earlier ones (and automatics I guess) had a more complicated system of lines/more check valves but it's all pretty redundant. They both do the same thing -- keep the brake booster under vacuum. (if someone knows of any differences in functionality, let me know! I'm curious)

I have a 6/87 and a 9/88 build, both of which have the "early" version; what is considered a late car?
