Question - flywheel bolt head size

We're starting a manual swap, located a trans and most parts about 3 hours away. A flywheel is at a pick n part yard, so we're thinking bring a cordless impact.

Flywheel bolt sizes show as 12x50 or 12x28 at the suppliers, but what is the bolt head size so we can bring the right impact sockets? 17mm? 19mm?

    Thank you -

19mm, but what's stopping you from bringing both?

Car that's getting the swap is a 318 with an auto, so no extra weight allowed...

        A 17mm socket isn't that heavy

          haha! so true.

Actually, I don't even own any impact sockets and I didn't want to buy a whole set.

Guess I could have looked here..

I just use normal sockets on my cordless impact......its only an m12, it cant be that tight.

I wouldn't put too much faith in that table, just take your socket set.....

Spec is 105nm/77ft-lbs, any good 19mm socket will be able to handle that but it's the impact part that helps to crack non impact sockets.

Yeah, the impact sockets tend to be less brittle- a non- impact can shatter,
just because the metallurgy's not compatible with the rattle.
I do it sometimes. I don't usually break 'em.... but I have a weak rattle gun.
